A State High Court sitting in Kano, on Tuesday, ordered Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to pay the sum of N800,000 as costs for expenses to Jafar Jafar, a publisher and his company, Daily Nigerian, respondents to his N3 billion defamation suit. Ganduje had filed a suit in November 2018, seeking N3 billion as damages for defamation of character against the respondents over videos they published of the governor allegedly receiving bribe in US dollars. A Federal High Court, in Abuja, on Wednesday ruled that former Minister of Finance Mrs. Kemi Adeosun was ineligible for the compulsory National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC). The court said she was not supposed to present herself for National Youth Service because under the 1979 Constitution, which was in force at the time of her graduation, she was not a Nigerian citizen either at the time of her graduation or when she turned 30. The National Industrial Court, sitting in Kaduna, Wednesday, declared the action of the Kaduna State Government in reducing the Pension of retired Secretaries to State Government, (SSGs), Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries as draconian, in bad faith and unconstitutional, The Industrial Court, therefore, ordered the Kaduna State government to forthwith pay them the difference in their monthly pension commencing from March, 2020. Kano Hisbah arrests 20 children for street begging

The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested 20 children in Kano for violating the law against street begging. This is contained in a statement issued yesterday by the Public Relations Officer of the board, Lawal Ibrahim, in Kano.
