… As Dino Melaye, Bwala picked as Atiku’s campaign spokespersons

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed the Governor of Plateau State governor and Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, (NGF), Simon Lalong, as the Director-General of its Presidential Campaign Council.

The APC Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, disclosed this to State House Correspondents yesterday shortly after meeting President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Adamu also announced Minister of State for Labour, Festus Keyamo, as the interim spokesman, and a columnist with the LEADERSHIP newspaper, Hannatu Musawa as the deputy spokesman for the APC presidential campaign.

The APC Chairman was accompanied by the presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, vice-presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, as well as Sen. Lalong.

Adamu explained that the choice of Lalong was based on his ability to do the work required to ensure victory for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket in next year’s presidential elections. “He has the ability to do it. The party leadership has seen that he is capable of running the affairs of the campaign outfit”, he noted.

In a related development, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has named Senator Dino Melaye and Dr. Daniel Bwala as spokespersons for the upcoming presidential campaign.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Paul Ibe, in Abuja yesterday. The appointment takes immediate effect.

Melaye, who hails from Ayetoro Gbede, in Ijumu local government area of Kogi State, was a member of the 8th Senate and represented Kogi-West at the National Assembly. Bwala, who hails from Adamawa, was a legal practitioner and public affairs analyst, before his appointment.
