Says all must unite for his victory

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has broken his silence since he lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket, congratulating the winner, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for his victory at the primary.

Tinubu, who contested the party’s presidential ticket with 13 other aspirants, polled 1,271 votes at the election to pick the ticket.

The immediate-past Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, came second with 316 votes, while Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo came third with 235 delegate votes.

Osinbajo, in a statement yesterday, congratulated Tinubu on his victory at the APC primary and his emergence as the presidential candidate and flag bearer of the party for next year’s presidential election.

He also congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and all leaders of the APC for a successful Special Convention and Presidential Primary.

According to him, for many decades, Tinubu had shown passion, patriotism, courage and determination in the cause of nation-building.

He said his sterling contributions to the nation’s democracy and its progress stood him out, adding that his wealth of experience would certainly be critical in the party’s continued effort to attain a more secured and prosperous Nigeria.
