2023: “Disregard Labour Party manifesto – Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of the Labour party (LP), Peter Obi, has disregarded the manifesto from his party that is currently in circulation.

In an issued statement on his verified Twitter handle, the former governor of Anambra State disclosed that his manifesto has not been formally released.

Prior to the LP flagbearer’s statement, it was widely reported that Peter Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, have released a seven-point manifesto on what they would do to tackle the problems in the country if elected in the forthcoming presidential election in 2023.

Obi’s campaign director, Doyin Okupe, who disclosed on Sunday that the manifesto, titled: “The Pact with Nigeria”, said that the 48-page policy document prioritises what an Obi-Baba Ahmed government would do if elected as the president of Nigeria.

Obi however urged the general public to disregard the manifesto that is in circulation, noting that he will personally release the approved and final draft of the manifesto.

“We have not formally released our Manifesto; I will do so personally. It seems an earlier draft copy under review has made its way into the public space. Until I release the approved and final draft, please disregard what is being circulated”, Obi said.
