2023: “I will never join PDP; not even my corpse – el-Rufa’i replies Atiku spokesman

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmed el-Rufa’i, has reacted to the possibility of joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

El-Rufa’i was reacting to claims by the spokesperson of PDP’s presidential campaign in 2023, David Bwala, that the former Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) would soon dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

On his official Twitter handle, Bwala, who until recently was a member of the APC, said he is optimistic that el-Rufa’i will be in the PDP even before the 2023 elections.

He also described the Kaduna Governor as one of the finest politicians the North has ever produced. However, reacting on his official Twitter page, el-Rufa’i posted: “Thanks @BwalaDaniel; but no, thanks. Never, ever; not even my corpse will be found in the vicinities of your new-found political party. I still dey laugh!!! – @elrufai”

Recall that Bwala, who was an aide of the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, recently quit the position and defected to the PDP from the APC in protest over the latter’s choice of a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket. While in the APC, Bwala made a lot of TV appearances where he harshly criticised the opposition PDP, his new party.

Just last week, Bwala alongside a vocal former federal lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye, was appointed as spokesperson of the Atiku Presidential Campaign for the 2023 Elections.
