The Adamawa State Police Command has smashed a 14-member kidnapping syndicate operating in the State.
According to the Command, it recovered 18 handsets with 23 SIM cards from the suspects.
The Police gave the identities of the suspects as Sanda Buba, 33 yrs-old and resident of Bausman village, of Chigari, in Fufore LGA; Aliyu Abubakar, 34 yrs-old and resident of Yolde Pate, Yola-South LGA; Ashiru Sarkin Yamma, 25 yrs-old, with no fixed address.
The others are Tukur Hammadu, 35 yrs-old, resident of Yolde Pate, Yola South-LGA; Abdul Isa, 35, from Samunaka in Yola-South LGA; Idris Musa, 27, from Malabu, Fufore LGA; Sama”ila Garba, 25, resident of Bunga, Malabu district, Fufore LGA, and Mumini Idirisu, 25, resident of Bunga, Malabu district, Fufore LGA, among others.
The Police said investigations led to the phone and SIM card recoveries, and that the suspects had confessed during interrogation of kidnapping Alhaji Sale Idi of Farang in Fufore LGA, Ya’u Adamu of Ganye town and Jones Hayatu of Kojoli Village, Jada local government areas respectively, and collected huge amounts of money as ransom.
