The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Anambra Governorship election, Senator Andy Uba, has rejected the outcome of the vote as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC).

This is contained in a statement issued by the Sen. Andy Uba Campaign Organisation, titled: “Senator Andy Uba Rejects the outcome of Anambra Governorship Election,” signed by the Spokesman for his campaign organisation, Jerry Ugokwe, yesterday.

He described the results as declared by INEC as a “charade”, which was not reflective of the wishes and aspirations of the people of the State. He also threatened to contest the election outcome in court.

According to the statement, the only people remaining in the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA), at the time of the election were Governor Obiano and his household and a few staff of the Government House as well as Prof. Soludo and his household, but the majority of the electorates in Anambra State have moved to the APC.

The campaign group appealed to the APC supporters to remain peaceful and calm, saying “we will not relent in pursuing our stolen electoral mandate to the limit of the law through all the constitutional means available as the facts on the ground did not in any way reflect the outcome of the elections as announced by the obviously compromised INEC”.
