‘Bandits kill 2 more students of Kaduna’s Greenfield University’ – Official

Another two students of Greenfield University, in Kaduna State, who were kidnapped last Tuesday, were found dead yesterday,

The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Homeland Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the latest murder of the two students in a press statement issued yesterday.

The development came two days after the bandits killed three out of the 20 students kidnapped from the school last week. The three victims were found dead on Friday.

The latest deaths have increased the number of students killed to five as negotiation for the release of the remaining 15 continues.

Parents of the students said the ransom money was being negotiated with the bandits when the three students were shot last week.

The retrieved corpses, Aruwan said,  have been evacuated to a mortuary, and that the university has been notified of the development.

Part of the press statement read: “The Government of Kaduna State under the leadership of Nasir El-Rufai is saddened by this evil perpetrated against innocent students abducted while pursuing their education for a glorious future.

“The government sends its deep empathy to their families and the university management and prays for the repose of their souls”.

The government said it will update the citizenry on further developments.
