Borno: Nigerian troops overrun Shekau’s farm in Sambisa

Nigerian soldiers have overrun a farm allegedly owned by Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau in the Sambisa forest just the military troops successfully repelled ISWAP Terrorists who attacked Dikwa town on Friday evening. 

In a video that circulated on social media, the troops who stormed the farm in the Sambisa axis could be seen inviting some locals to help themselves with edibles before destroying the farm.

The troops could also be heard mocking the sect leader and asking him to come out from the hiding.

In a related development, Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly hoisted their flag in parts of Marte local government of Borno State, military sources said.

According to the report, the insurgents repeatedly attacked the local government within the week.

The casualty figure for the attack is still unknown. But some soldiers injured from Marte have since been evacuated to Maiduguri for treatment.

The attack on Marte came barely two months after the State government resettled 500 households in New Marte.

The Chief of Army Staff has commended the troops of the Nigerian Army who repelled the attack on Dikwa, saying the soldiers gave a good account of themselves.
