The Department of State Services, (DSS), yesterday freed the former spokesman to the Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Salihu Tanko-Yakasai. His elder brother, Umar, confirmed the development to newsmen yesterday night.
“My brother has just been released by DSS. We are now driving home,” he said, without further elaboration regarding the conditions of the bail.
Recall that Yakasai was picked up by the DSS on Saturday, the same day he was relieved of his position as an aide to Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
The DSS had admitted on Saturday that Tanko-Yakasai was in their custody after a mounting social media storm over the arrest. In the wake of the arrest, Gov. Ganduje announced his sack over “unguarded utterances” and criticism against the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC).
