…President Buhari mourns widow
The wife of former Nigerian President, Shehu Shagari, (GCFR), has died yesterday, in Abuja.
According to a statement issued by her grandson, Bello Shagari, on his Facebook page, said the deceased died at the Gwagwalada Isolation Center in Abuja, around 3 a.m., after battling Covid-19 complications.
A funeral prayer was held at the National Mosque Abuja.
Her death is coming hours after the departure of Mohammed Fawehinmi, the son of the Late legal luminary, Chief Gani Fawehinmi.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the family, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
The President described the Late First Lady as a pillar of strength and support, holding forth for the family while her husband busied himself with service to the nation.
President Buhari prayed to Allah to forgive her sins and reward her with Paradise.
