The Gombe State government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Billiri local government area.
This followed the eruption of violence in Billiri town, which has degenerated into a security threat to both lives and property.
According to a statement issued yesterday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the curfew would start from 6 pm yesterday, adding that it has suspended all forms of gatherings in Billiri local government area.
It further directed security agencies to ensure strict compliance with the curfew directive with the exception of personnel providing essential services.
The State government pledged its commitment to the protection of lives and properties.
