The Exectutive Governor of Jigawa State , Alhaji Muhammed Badaru Abubakar, MON,Mni, has described former military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, as a symbol of unity and a beacon nationalism, who worked for unity and development of Nigeria.
General Babangida (rtd), who served as the nation’s military President from 1985 to 1993 turns 80 today, Tuesday 17, August 2021.
In an issued congratulatory message, signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Print Media, Ahmad Muhammad Danyaro, Governor Abubakar noted that having successfully navigated through 80 years of life as a military ifficer, military oresident and now an elder statesman, Gen. Babangida represents an embodiment of experience, wisdom and legendary leadership.
“His impeachable records of service to God and Country will continue to serve as a reference point for countless generations”, he said.
He added: “On this auspicious occasion of your 80th birthday anniversary, I heartily join your family, friends and associates across the globe to celebrate yet another year of God’s favour upon you in an illustrious life journey”.
The ggovernor prayed Almighty God to grant IBB many more years in good health so that he can continue his selfless service to his fatherland and mentoring the younger generations.
