…Says Nigeria will be great
The former Chief Security Officer, (CSO) to Nigeria’s former Head of State, the Late Gen. Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha(rtd), advised the new Army Chief of Staff, (COAS), Major-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, to end the Boko Haram insurgency as soon as possible.
According to Al-Mustapha, the new Army Chief must hasten the end of the insurgency, which had led to the massive destruction of lives and property.
According to him, delaying the fight against Boko Haram will do Nigeria a disservice, saying, “the sooner we crush them, the better”.
The former CSO, while congratulating the new COAS on his appointment, advised him to work in synergy with other security agencies to ensure success.
Al Mustapha said the Army chieftain must also trace sources of weapons entering Nigeria, leading to a proliferation of weapons.
The ex-CSO said the military must step up its pace to address the security challenges facing the country so that it can return to the barracks as soon as possible. He further expressed optimism that Nigeria will be a great nation, despite the current challenges.
Al-Mustapha alleged that certain foreign powers were responsible for Nigeria’s many problems, saying the plan has negatively affected all sectors of the economy as well as all spheres of life for Nigerians.
He added that leaders, at all levels, must strive to rectify the situation and advised Nigerians, who are collaborating with foreign forces to stunt the country’s growth to stop.
