From Hassan Umar Faruk, Abuja
President Muhammadu Buhari has received the United Nations (UN) Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The UN Scribe arrived at the forecourt of Nigeria’s seat of power at 3:00 pm, where he was welcomed by the President.
The two leaders immediately went into a closed session, where they are expected to extensively deliberate on issues surrounding security and the humanitarian crisis troubling the North-East region and some parts of Nigeria.
Guterres will later address State House Correspondents at the end of his closed-door meeting with President Buhari.
The UN Scribe, who paid a working visit to Maiduguri, Borno State on Tuesday, had earlier paid similar visits to neighbouring Niger Republic and Senegal.
