After two days of intra-party spat over claim to its leadership, the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Deputy National Chairman (South), has affirmed Yemi Akinwonmi as its Acting National Chairman.
This was disclosed by the party’s spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, after the National Working Committee, (NWC), closed-door meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
Akinwonmi replaces the erstwhile National Chairman, Uche Secondus, who was on Monday ordered by a Rivers State High Court not to parade himself as the National Chairman of the PDP.
He also announced a reschedule of the party’s National Executive Council, (NEC), for Saturday.
