Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a cocaine trafficker identified as Ukaegbu Bright Onyekachi at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), in Lagos.
It was learnt that the cocaine trafficker, Onyekachi, who arrived Nigeria on board Ethiopian Airlines from São Paulo, Brazil via Addis Ababa, was nabbed with 3.30 kilogrammes of the illicit drug during the inward clearance of passengers at the E-arrival hall of the MMIA.
Speaking on the incident, Ahmadu Garba, who is the NDLEA commander at MMIA, said the hard drug was cleverly concealed in T-shirts stickers but was nabbed by eagle-eyed detectives.
Recall that last week, the NDLEA’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Command, Abuja has intercepted 21.9 kilograms of cocaine.
The Principal Staff Officer, Public Affairs, of the agency, Jonah Achema, who revealed this in a statement in Abuja on Monday, said the illicit substance, concealed in two suitcases, is the largest single seizure by the Command.
