Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi, has warned that the continuous attacks by Fulani herders against their host communities could eventually lead to the disintegration of the country.
Umahi, who has been under intense pressure to resign following recent kiIIings in his State, said he is saddened by the situation and demanded that urgent steps be taken by the Buhari administration to stem the tide. “We feel so sad that this kind of thing should happen in Ebonyi state; we feel so worried for our country Nigeria”, the governor stated.
He added that he is looking up to the Presidency to do something about the situation and warned that failure to end the attacks could result in a “very serious civil war in Nigeria”.
Umahi is reported to be currently under a twenty-one-day ultimatum to resign from office for allegedly conspiring with Northern powers against his own people, all because of his presidential ambition.
