The pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has said the signs of the end of Nigeria is very clear, but said the Buhari administration still has the chance to avert the looming catastrophe by yielding to the demands of agitators in the country particularly, the demand to restructure the country.
Afenifere, which made this known on Sunday, as part of the resolutions of its Executive Council, after reviewing recent developments in the country, at its meeting held at the Lagos residence of its acting leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, said Nigeria may not survive beyond 2021 if the current government and National Assembly refuse to restructure it.
Issuing the statement through its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Jare Ajayi, the group also threw its weight behind the recent resolutions of Southern governors placing a total ban on open grazing and having State Police established in the country.
The group demanded that implementation of restructuring towards achieving true Federalism must begin before the middle of next year.
On the stance of the Southern Governors Forum (SGF), Afenifere frowned at the disapproval being expressed by some Northern elements, whilst urging all Southern states to enact the same law expeditiously.
