The Northern Broadcast Media Owners Association, (NBMOA), has expressed its dismay against the exclusion of all Northern Broadcast Media organisations from the live coverage of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP)’s National Convention, scheduled for 30th and 31st October, 2021.

According to a press statement issued by the NBMOA Acting Chairman, Alh. Abdullahi Yelwa,
Ajiyan Yauri, “It has come to the notice of the Northern Broadcast Media Owners Association, (NBMOA), that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s National Convention Committee has decided to exclude all Northern Broadcast Media organizations from the live coverage of its National Convention, billed to take place on 30th and 31st October, 2021.

“All efforts by our Association to convince the organisers of the Convention to reconsider the decision to exclude media organisations from the North have failed.

“In view of this development, the NBMOA hereby directs its members all over the North not to cover or make any editorial inputs on the PDP Convention, slated for October 30th & 31st, 2021”.

“We consider this action by a major national party seeking to govern Nigeria again as a sign of disregard for the North, from which it seeks to draw support for its return to national leadership”, the NMBOA stated.
