Osinbajo to grace 8th Ahmadu Bello Lecture in Kano

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo is expected to attend the 8th Sir Ahmadu Bello Lecture in Kano, on January 28, as a Special Guest of Honour, an official has said.

The Managing Director of the Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, Abubakar Gambo, disclosed this in an issued statement, yesterday.

Gambo said that the lecture, tagged: “Reviving the Northern Traditional Institutions: Imperative for Peace and Security in Northern Nigeria”, would hold under the chairmanship of Governor Simon Lalong, of Plateau State.

“The annual lecture usually serves as a forum where experts, analysts, policymakers and stakeholders converge to discuss topical issues and proffer solutions to them”, he explained.

Gambo added that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, of Kano State, was expected to serve as the Chief Host at the event, slated for the Coronation Hall of the Kano State Government House, Kano.

He said that dignitaries expected at the event included the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage, who would serve as the Guest Speaker at the event.

“Other eminent Nigerians who will discuss and proffer solutions on the theme include: Former Chief Justice of the FCT, Justice Ishaq Bello; former Vice-Chancellor University of Makurdi, Prof. Nancy Aybe, and Prof. Usman Abubakar of the Department of Local Government and Development Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU), Zaria”, he added.
