President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to do everything within the law to protect citizens from the onslaught of criminals, which include insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and politically motivated killings.
The President gave the assurance yesterday, while speaking in Kaduna during the Passing-Out Parade of the 68th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).
According to an issued statement signed by his Media Assistant, Garba Shehu, President Buhari assured that more equipment had been received from some friendly nations to improve security operations.
The president noted that security had assumed priority in governance and public policy in the international scheme of affairs, adding that these assets will be deployed to accelerate the fight against insecurity in all parts of the country.
Buhari also explained that, in the international scheme of affairs, security has also assumed a priority in governance and public policy.
The president emphasised that for Nigeria to be peaceful, prosperous and democratic, to attract foreign investors, the citizens must be law-abiding, committed and promoters of peaceful co-existence.
The high point of the event was the presentation of awards to cadets who distinguished themselves in academics and training.
A total of 260 cadets were commissioned into the Nigerian Armed Forces.
