Re-jigging security architecture : “Sack National Security Adviser now”, Expert tells Buhari

An Abuja-based security and intelligence expert, Dr. Sani Aliyu, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the current National Security Adviser, (NSA), Babagana Monguno, just as he relieved the immediate-past Service Chiefs of their responsibilities.

Sani, who made the recommendation while featuring in a Liberty Television flagship programme Dialogue, hinged his advice on what he called failure of the NSA to properly co-ordinate the nation’s Security Chiefs in the face of escalating security situation in the country.

According to the security and intelligence expert, inability to pro-actively analyse and co-ordinate various intelligence obtained by the agencies to tackle threats to the nation’s security and stability is enough reason to sack the National Security Adviser.

While commending President Buhari for heeding to numerous calls to sack the former Service Chiefs, Dr. Sani Aliyu said the nation’s security architecture requires a robust overhaul to achieve the desired objectives.

He also berates those instigating ethnic and sectional strife by using the headsmen crisis as ignorant of history and the nation’s resolve to remain an indivisible entity despite its established diversities.
