S’East Region Lockdown: IPOB declares ‘sit-at-home’ on Tuesday, same day as Buhari’s trip to Imo

The banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) says there will be a sit-at-home protest in the South-East on Tuesday.

In an issued statement yesterday, IPOB spokesperson, Emma Powerful, said the sit-at-home order is in solidarity with its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who will appear in court the same day.

The spokesperson said it is in line with its existing order that the region should be on lockdown any day the IPOB leader is scheduled to appear in court and warned residents of the South-East States to desist from defiling the sit-at-home order to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari.

The President is scheduled to visit Imo state on Tuesday to inaugurate some projects.

However, Powerful said the President should not be visiting the State while the Department of State Services (DSS) continues to detain the IPOB leader.
