Contrary to earlier reports that the self-styled Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has been released by the authorities of Benin Republic, his media aide, Olayomi Koiki, has denied such.
Recall that there were reports on social media that Igboho who was arrested in Cotonou on Monday night, alongside his wife, has been released and was on his way to Germany.
However, when contacted by newsmen yesternight, Koiki said the report is untrue as nothing of such happened.
“Please disregard the report. There is nothing as such”, he stated.
According to the earlier reports, which emanated from an issued statement by the ‘Yoruba Nation Global Directorate’, signed by its Director, Princess Adeola Atayero Olamijulo.
According to reports, Igboho regained his freedom on Tuesday afternoon following his release by the government of the Benin Republic.
The statement was released by the group’s Directorate Coordinator for Information, Otunba Demola Edwards.
