Man to die by hanging for killing lover

An Abeokuta High Court on Wednesday sentenced a 39-year-old mechanic, Musiliu Owolabi, to death by hanging for killing his lover, Miss Afusat Idowu. The Chief Judge of Ogun, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, convicted Owolabi on a count charge of murder. She held that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that Owolabi was guilty as charged. Dipeolu noted that murder contravened the provisions of Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006. Man using wife’s gown to impersonate lawyers sentenced to jail

An Abeokuta Magistrate’s Court in Ogun state has sentenced one Omotola Ayokanmi, a 47-year-old man to three years in prison for impersonation. According to Fortune Akhenegor, a Police Inspector and the prosecution counsel, Ayokanmi unlawfully presented himself as legal practitioner at a Federal High Court, Abeokuta, July 16.
