IGP disbands Police monitoring units in Lagos, Port-Harcourt

The Acting Inspector-General of Police, (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the immediate disbandment of the IGP Monitoring Satellite Offices in Lagos and Port-Harcourt, the Rivers State capital. Baba gave the order while speaking at his maiden meeting with Command Police Commissioners and zonal AIGs, yesterday in Abuja, saying the monitoring units will be re-organised. It was gathered that the disbandment is a result of complaints of harassment and operating beyond their briefs by Nigerians. President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of DIG Usman Alkali Baba as acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP). Constables recruitment exercise: PSC drags IGP Adamu to Buhari

The Police Service Commission, (PSC), has reported the Inspector-General of Police, (IGP) Mohammed Adamu, to the President Muhammadu Buhari for refusing to hand over the 2019 recruitment of 10,000 constables.
