Pending Cases: Apeal Court has 39,526 – Justice Dongben-Mensem

The President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensen, has said that the appellate court has 39,526 pending cases. Justice Dongben-Mensen made this known during a ceremony to usher in the 2023/2024 new legal year. The All Progressive Congress (APC) has urged its screening committees to ensure justice to all aspirants that purchased and submitted its Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest elective positions in the  2023 general elections. A Federal High Court has fixed October 19, for continuation of trial of  Abdulrasheed Maina, ex-Chairman, Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT). The registry gave the date, following the absence of Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja  and Maina on Monday. Also, the trial of a Briton, James Nolan, over his alleged complicity in the 9.6 billion dollars judgment against Nigeria in the Process and Industrial Developments Limited (P&ID) scam.
