Outrage and angry reactions have continued to trail the unexpected upward review of electricity tariffs by about 100 percent by the 11 Electricity Distribution Companies, (DisCos) operating in the country. 36 million electricity meters to be installed by June — FG

The Nigeria Electricity Management Services Agency, the Federal Government agency mandated to certify electricity meters imported into the country have been directed by the President, Muhammadu Buhari to ensure the installation of 36 million meters nationwide by June 2021. FG signs 25MW IPP deal for Kano Free Trade Zone

The Federal Government, on Friday, said it had signed a 25 megawatt Independent Power Project (IPP) agreement, to enhance electricity supply to industries in the Kano Free Trade Zone (KFTZ). The Senate has queried the Ministry of Power over the sum of N7 billion smuggled into its budget without an appropriation from the National Assembly. The Senate Committee on Public Accounts premised its query on the 2015 audit report of the Auditor-General of the Federal, (AGF), which was submitted to it for consideration.
