Terror alert: “We don’t need US prompting to defend Nigeria” – DHQ

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ said the Armed Forces and other sister security agencies do not need any prompting from the US or any other country to carry out their constitutional responsibility of securing the country.

It said men of the Armed Forces; especially the Intelligence Community, have been working round the clock to ensure that Nigerians and foreigners alike are secured and live their dream.

The Director, Defence Information, Major General Jimmy Akpor, said most of the achievements recorded by the military in recent clampdown on terror elements across the country are classified and not published for the public to know.

He reassured that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the environs are safe, adding that troops, and other law enforcement operatives have continued to deny criminal elements freedom of action on a daily basis, through arrests and killings across the country.

Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj-Gen. Musa Danmadami, said a lot of gains were recorded in the last two weeks ( October 20 – October – November 3), as troops intensified operations across theatres, using the kinetic and non-kinetic approaches.
