The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its gubernatorial candidate, Isa Ashiru Kudan is to call twenty-five witnesses for its petition against Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State.
The PDP and Kudan the petitioners, through their Counsel, Samuel Atung, (SAN) disclosed this during the pre-hearing proceeding before the court’s three justices in Kaduna.
Atung said that the 23 electoral officers were part of the witnesses to be presented before the court for examination-in-chief, cross-examination, and re-examination.
The Chairman of the three-man panel, Justice Victor Oviawe, after extensive deliberations alloted seven minutes to examination in-chief, twelve minutes to cross-examination, and three minutes to re-examination respectively.
Meanwhile, counsels to the 1st respondent; the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Alhassan A. Umar SAN, 2nd respondent; Governor Uba Sani, Sunusi Musa SAN and that of the 3rd respondent; APC, Muhammed Sani Katu were at the hearing and pleaded with the court for the service of an interpreter.
The court also directed that all interlocutory applications be filed before the close of work tomorrow Wednesday, saying that the court is time-bound.
The court adjourned the case to 15th June 2023 for further hearing.
