‘Wike, other PDP governors on their way to APC’ – Yahaya Bello

…As pressure mounts on S/East govs. to join the party like Umahi

Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, yesterday, said more governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), are making plans to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor stated this while reacting to the defection of Ebonyi State governor, Dave Umahi from the PDP to APC, adding that Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, would not be the last governor to join the ruling party, describing Umahi as a believer in the APC even when he was a member of the opposition party.

Meanwhile, a pan-South-East political group: the ‘Nigerian Presidential Project 2023’, has urged governors of Enugu, Abia and Anambra to join the ruling APC.

The Director of Media and Publicity of the group, Tony Nwachukwu, made the call in a statement issued in Enugu yesterday, saying the call had become imperative following the defection of Gov. Umahi, who is the leader and Chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum, to the APC.

The group’s spokesman also accused the PDP of not respecting the zoning arrangement in the country and exhibiting undemocratic tendencies and commended Umahi for dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), adding that the entire members of his group supported the move.
